Electronic PDF signing

Add a signature yourself or request one from someone else

PDFPA lets you place a visible electronic signature on a PDF without rasterizing the document, or create a temporary signing link for a single recipient.

Draw, type or upload

Create a signature with a mouse, touch input or pen, type your name, or upload a signature image.

Preview placement and size

Choose the page, position and signature size while previewing how it will appear on the document.

Request a signature

Enter the recipient details, choose the signature location, then copy or email a temporary signing link.

Keep the PDF sharp

The visible signature is added as an overlay instead of converting the entire PDF to images.

How to sign a PDF online

Add an electronic signature in three steps.

01

Upload the PDF

Choose one PDF document up to 200 MB.

02

Create and place the signature

Draw, type or upload a signature, then choose the page, position and size.

03

Download or request a signature

Download your signed PDF or share the temporary signing link with the intended recipient.

Temporary electronic-signing workflow

Self-sign results follow the standard temporary result window. Signature-request documents and links are temporary and expire automatically after seven days.

Visible electronic signature

PDFPA adds a visible electronic signature. It does not create or validate a certificate-based PAdES digital signature.

Expiring signing requests

Single-recipient request links and associated files expire automatically after the request window.

Sign PDFs online for everyday approval and document workflows

A visible electronic signature is useful when you need to approve, acknowledge or return a PDF without printing and scanning it. PDFPA supports self-signing as well as temporary signature requests, giving you a simple browser-based workflow for common documents.

Draw, type or upload a signature

Create a signature in the way that works best for you. Draw with a mouse, trackpad, stylus or touchscreen, type a name, or upload an existing signature image. Then position and resize the signature on the selected page before processing the PDF.

The signature is placed as an overlay on the existing document, helping preserve the sharpness and structure of the original PDF pages.

Request a signature from one recipient

For documents that need someone else's signature, create a temporary request link with a chosen signature position. The recipient can open the link and complete the requested signature without needing a PDFPA account.

Request documents and links are not permanent storage. They expire automatically after seven days, which is different from the shorter normal download window used for ordinary self-sign processing.

Free electronic signing without a daily allowance

PDFPA currently provides the signing tool without a subscription or public account and does not impose a daily signing quota. Individual jobs still follow file-size limits and standard safeguards against misuse.

A visible electronic signature is not the same thing as a certificate-backed digital signature. If a regulated workflow requires PAdES, certificate identity validation or a qualified electronic signature, use a service designed specifically for those requirements.
