Create an editable .md file that focuses on headings, paragraphs, lists and detected tables instead of fixed PDF coordinates.
Text size and document cues are used to identify common heading-like content and body text.
Common list markers are normalized and detected tables can be written using Markdown table syntax.
The generated Markdown can be revised in any text editor or Markdown application.
Image-only scanned pages require OCR before meaningful structured text can be recovered.
Upload a PDF, analyze its text structure and download the .md file.

PDFPA interprets available text and common document structure rather than copying only raw characters.
Save the generated .md file and continue editing it in your preferred Markdown workflow.
Your file is processed temporarily to create the requested result. Normal completed results remain available for up to 10 minutes and are then removed automatically.
Uploaded and generated files are temporary processing files rather than documents stored in a permanent public library.
Use Delete result on the completion screen if you want to request removal before automatic cleanup.
Markdown represents document structure with simple text syntax, while PDF stores content on fixed pages. PDF to Markdown is useful when you want to move information out of a PDF and into a format that works better for documentation, repositories, knowledge bases and text-based publishing systems.
PDFPA analyzes available text size, emphasis, list markers and detected tables to infer common Markdown elements such as headings, paragraphs, bullet lists and tables. This produces a more useful editing starting point than a plain text dump when the source document has recognizable structure.
The goal is not pixel-perfect reproduction. Markdown cannot represent every PDF layout, floating graphic, multi-column arrangement or positioned design element. Complex documents may need manual cleanup, but the result can be easier to maintain in Git, documentation systems or static-site workflows than the original fixed PDF.
If the PDF has a selectable text layer, headings and document content can be analyzed. Image-only scans do not contain usable characters unless OCR has already been applied, so they cannot be expected to produce meaningful Markdown automatically. Tables also depend on whether their structure can be detected from the source page.
PDF to Markdown currently has no daily conversion quota and requires no public account or subscription. Each job accepts one PDF up to 200 MB and 2,000 pages. Generated Markdown is temporary and expires after the normal download window.
